After a leak last year, fans assumed that the new Microsoft console would not be launched before 2028. According to a more recent leak, however, the new Xbox could be released much earlier.

In September 2023, documents from the legal dispute between Microsoft and the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) were leaked which included a roadmap for the release of the next-gen console. Since then, fans have been expecting the new Xbox console to be launched in 2028.

A new leak from a well-known data miner and leaker who mainly focuses on Call of Duty has Xbox fans sitting up and taking notice. According to Hope, also known as TheGhost of Hope, the next Xbox console will be launched at the end of 2026. It is very likely that Call of Duty, developed by Infinity Ward, will be the launch title of the new Xbox in 2026, according to the leaker. Hope announced this in a post on X (formerly Twitter). According to the leaker, this information comes from "trusted sources".

What is already known about the new Xbox?

As yet, there is no official information about Microsoft's next-gen console, which does not yet have a codename. However, in the documents leaked in September 2023, the new Xbox is described as a "hybrid gaming platform" that combines the power of local hardware and the cloud to enable new, even more immersive gaming. The leaks also suggest that Microsoft is working with AMD to equip the new console with Zen 6 CPU and RDNA 5 GPU.
