Windows 10 Build 9924 Compiled Before JTP Release
« on: January 20, 2015, 03:46:19 AM »
Number, numbers everywhere! Microsoft regularly compiles all manner of builds, but this new one, Windows 10 build 9924 is special as it has just been finished ahead of a high profile event.

Yes, the January 21 gathering at Redmond headquarters.

Where the company is expected to launch JTP, the January Technical Preview version of its upcoming operating system. Little is known about what build number JTP will arrive with once it gets the greenlight for Windows Insider later this week.

But as shown here, the “awesome” branch got another new addition recently, with version 9924 being officially added not too long ago.

While it does reveal that Microsoft continues to compile new Windows 10 versions, adding features and squashing bugs as often as possible, it is still not clear that this is the one that will be shipped to users in just a few days.

Since the January Technical Preview is expected to include many consumer oriented features, the software titan probably wants to provide as advanced an experience as possible.

There’s also the matter of the Consumer Preview, which many expect will go live in a few months from now at BUILD 2015. The dates for that anticipated event have been set for between April 29 and May 1, just for the record.

For now, the focus remains on what version number JTP brings around, once it goes live.
