How To Get The Charms Bar Back On Windows 10
« on: October 16, 2014, 03:05:50 AM »
For mouse usage, that is. Microsoft made a fair few changes to the UI of Windows 10, and one causality was the functionality of the Charms bar. It’s completely revised.

While in Windows 8 this is activated by going to either the top or bottom right corner of your screen, in Windows 10 the Charms are placed inside modern apps via a small drop down menu in the top left. Surely an improvement for keyboard and mouse users.

However, for one reason or another you might want the old functionality back.

You’re in luck, then, because there is a new piece of software that returns this functionality.

Going by the rather interesting name of PopCharms, and developed by CyclingGuyNOLA, it comes in the form of a simple .exe file that places an icon in your system tray — for easy turning on or off, among other things.

Basically, with the app running, all you need to do is move your mouse to the bottom right corner of your screen, and voila! The Charms bar will show.

It’s hard to think everyone making use of this software, but even harder to think Microsoft will give users an option for the old Charms bar. It has been rumored for removal for months now, and the Technical Preview provides confirmation that it might not survive the development process.

But this third-party option is here for fans of how this feature worked previously.

Grab it from here.
