Microsoft is currently working on fixing bugs and improving the performance of the Operating System in preparation for the release of the company’s next major update Redstone 4 due this Spring.

The company has already released some new features for the Windows Insiders with Redstone 4 aka Spring Creators Update. Xbox One users have been wondering if the company has stopped development of new features for the console.

Today the company answers the question as to what is coming in the next major update for Xbox One console users with Redstone 4 version 1804 with Windows 10 Redstone 4 to be called as 1803.

First among the major feature which is being rolled out is the 1440p support which has already been in works internally by Microsoft. Xbox One users will be able to stream video and play games at 1440p on the Xbox One X. You will be able to enjoy the games at 1440p if you are able to connect your Xbox console to a PC monitor.

Another new feature is the changes which are being made to Mixer which will now include a new “Share Controller” feature which lets the streamers of Mixer on Xbox One be able to share their controller with a viewer on Mixer’s website. The service can be activated from anywhere in the Xbox One.

Xbox One gamers who use Microsoft Edge browser will be seeing a new look for the browser in the latest update. It will now be easier to navigate with the controller and the update makes it easy for users to download and upload images, music and videos directly from the browser on the Xbox console giving access to the content via the File Explorer.

New Audio controls will also be part of the update letting the user adjust the volume of the background music. The Home and Guide will now support spatial audio for Xbox one users in the latest update.

Club owners will also be benefiting from new features which provide them the ability to filter invitation requests. The Club feeds now can be sorted out with new options by choosing between “what’s hot” and “top posts”.

The Club owners also get the ability to disable comments in the feed posts. Some other features include the option to filter invitation requests by getting recommendations from other members.

The Xbox Live Gold will be getting a new dedicated tab which lets users view all the Games with Gold. This is one of the features which was already announced as an experimental feature.

The Preview version of the update 1804 is already rolling out for users on Alpha Ring, but do remember that this is a Preview version and will be unstable for regular use. If you do not wish to try out the preview version then you can stop from getting the update by switching to a lower ring of the Insider Program.
